Five Points Speaker Series – Pictorial Journey of San Francisco’s 1906 Earthquake with Rebecca Dailey
September 23 @ 1:00 pm - 3:00 pm
Karolinn Schmidt O’Conner was in San Francisco at the time of the great quake of 1906. Her photographs of the devastation were discovered in the mid-1980’s in the bottom of an old trunk in the attic of her sister’s home in Peoria.
Her great niece, Rebecca Dailey, inherited these original photographs from her father. She used her photographic skills to restore them and did extensive research to assemble a historical journey from before and after the quake. She has presented her research and the collection at Illinois State University, Butler University and a variety of community organizations in the area.
Meet Rebecca Dailey:
Rebecca Dailey received her Photographic Craftsman Degree in 1992 through the Professional Photographers of America. Through the years, she has received various awards for print competition and several credits for speaking programs.

Through the years, she has worked with hand oiling on sepia toned photographic prints, brush oils on canvas, airbrush artist, photographer, negative retouching, print retouching, black and white dark room printing, photo restoration artist and a computer digital artist-retoucher.
