**New Policy, Effective Immediately**
  • Five Points is pausing the sale of guest passes to non-members under the age of 18 and the use of guest passes and punch cards for those under the age of 18.
  • Non-members under the age of 18 will be allowed to use the facility IF THEY ARE PARTICIPATING IN ANY OF OUR PAID PROGRAMS. Swim lessons, personal training, aquatic training, youth basketball programs/league, clinics, and birthday parties.
  • Adult non-members can bring their children BUT THIER CHILDREN MUST ATTEND THE KIDS CLUBHOUSE during their visit (additional fee).
  • Non-Members will still be able to participate in FAMILY SWIM during open swim hours. The parent, legal guardian or grandparent MUST ACCOMPANY THE MINOR DURING THEIR ENTIRE VISIT.

Join our team of Aquatic Instructors! Use your knowledge of exercise and translate that to the water to help our members improve their health and physical fitness!

Classes are offered Monday-Friday in the mornings and evenings. All classes are 45 minutes long. We have classes for every level of fitness.

 Experience

  • Must have experience as an aquatic instructor, fitness instructor, or be familiar with water classes and exercise
  • Experience with special populations and all age groups and fitness levels

Custodial Lead

As an essential member of the center’s leadership team, Custodial Lead supervise and coordinate custodial staff responsible for cleaning the facility. The main duties are assigning tasks and evaluating the work of custodial employees while making sure the activity complies with safety and procedural standards.

Summary of essential job functions:
Under the supervision of the Assistant General Manager of Five Points the custodial Lead will be responsible for:

• Performing daily facility cleaning, assigning tasks, and evaluate the cleaning of the custodial team
• Assisting in interviewing and hiring custodial team
• Assisting in ordering and inventorying all janitorial equipment and supplies
• Motivate, correction of performance and discipline of custodial staff
• Employee scheduling, training and assist in facilitating meetings
• Preparation of facility for programs, meetings, events, and rentals
• Enforcing all safety procedures, maintain safety data sheet and OSHA compliance
• Performing all other duties as assigned

Minimum requirements:
-Minimum qualifications include high school degree or equivalent
-One year of leadership experience in the custodial field
-Effective Communication skills
-Experience in basic custodial equipment, supplies
-Floor Care Experience
-SDS and OSHA knowledge
-Basic computer Skills

Essential Functions:
The work requires physical exertion in handling supplies, equipment and materials that are relative to the services rendered. Prolonged standing, bending, stooping, and twisting are required; ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds on each leg of a repetitive unloading and reloading process; activities involving risks which are typically associated with athletic, recreational and facility rental events; normal safety precautions typical of these areas of services are required. Exposure to power equipment, indoor cleaning agents and solutions and various hand tools will be required.

Customer Service Manager, Five Points Washington

Job summary:
The Washington Area Community Center, DBA Five Points Washington is a 143,000 sq/ft facility that houses a fitness center, family leisure and 8 lane competition pools, 1,020 seat auditorium, banquet facility, meeting rooms, senior center, and library. As an essential member of the Community Center’s leadership team, the Customer Service Manager will be responsible for the management of the Customer Service Representatives (front desk and shift leaders), Kids Clubhouse staff, development of systems and processes for the areas supervised, and be responsible for revenue generation through promotion and development of membership sales.
Summary of essential job functions:
Under the supervision of the Business Assistant General Manager of Fitness of the Center, the Customer Service Manager will be responsible for:
• Supervision and scheduling of Front desk staff, Shift Leaders and Kids Clubhouse.
• Membership sales including the development of specials, marketing and promotion.
• Development of prospect tracking processes to include follow up and conversation to members.
• Develop of systems/processes for all areas supervised
• Develop job performance standards for areas supervised including follow up and goal setting with employees based on the CSI results.
• Interviewing, hiring, training, and evaluation of part time employees within your areas.
• Act as a liaison between facility staff and customers in order to facilitate the highest level of customer service and build a strong team atmosphere by cross training employees to provide support as needed for other areas.
• Work with Assistant General Manager of Fitness to develop, implement and oversee member events.
• Maintain accounting records for all of the areas supervised.
• Budget, preparation, implementation and management.
• Coordination of financial resources for areas supervised including cost control and revenue strategies.
• Performing all other duties as assigned.
Minimum requirements Minimum qualifications include: a 4 year degree in Business, communications or related field; 4 years experience in like field; supervisory experience and budgeting experience. Accounting experience desired. Although a degree is preferred, consideration will be given to candidates with extensive experience in a like position with similar duties and responsibilities.

We are looking for a responsible and professional people to help watch over our aquatics center!

Lifeguards are key members of the team and are responsible for the safety of all our members and guests using one of our pools. The lifeguards also create a friendly and welcoming environment in our aquatics center! Must be willing to work at least 2 shifts per week and be available one weekend day.

Special Events Coordinator, Five Points Washington

Job summary:

The Washington Area Community Center is a 143,000 sq/ft facility that houses a fitness center, family leisure and 8 lane competition pools, 1,020 seat auditorium, banquet facility, meeting rooms, senior room, and library.   As an essential member of the Center’s leadership team, the Special Events Coordinator will assist and support the Special Event Managers with the coordination and supervision of a wide variety of special events to be held in both the Banquet/Meeting rooms and Performing Arts Center, manage concession sales, and also assist in the day-to-day tasks of the Special Events department.

Summary of essential job functions:

Under the supervision of the Events Venue Manager, the Special Events Coordinator will be responsible for:

  • Providing extensive day of support in event execution.
  • Supervision of event staff during banquet functions and theatre performances.
  • Supervision of concessions sales during events.
  • Ability to work a variety of scheduled hours based on performances and other scheduled events. Shifts may include days, evenings, and weekends.
  • Responsible for working with caterers, DJ’s and other outside groups utilizing the facility to ensure all procedures and policies are followed.
  • Follow all designated closing procedures to ensure areas are secure and sanitary.
  • Day to day general office duties including but not limited to inventory and organizational duties
  • Performing all other duties as assigned.

Minimum requirements:

  • 1 – 2 years of supervisory experience preferred.

Special Event Lead/Attendant

Job Description:
Summary of Essential Job Functions Under the supervision of the Special Events Banquet Manager, Event Leads/Attendants will be responsible for:

• Assists all guests, vendors, and caterers with questions or requests throughout the evening to ensure a cohesive and positive experience for everyone

• Responsible for the supervision of all on-site staff members when a manager is not present

• Ensure that all areas are properly sanitized, and general upkeep is met o This includes, but is not limited to: prep stations, table linens, spot vacuuming, disposing of all trash, coffee makers, tea makers, beverage dispensers, etc.

• Follow all designated closing procedures to ensure that areas are secure

• Assists the bartender with barback type duties

• Consistent and effective communication with the banquet office regarding event progress, outcomes, and overall experience

• Performing any other job duties as assigned by the Special Events Banquet Manager Qualifications

• Must be 18 years of age and older

• Excellent customer service skills are required

• Ability to work in a team environment, as well as independently

• Capacity to multitask with good time management skills

• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills

• Must be able to work independently, with little supervision

• Ability to work irregular working hours

• Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with co-workers, vendors, and guests

A unique position that provides flexible schedule. Set up in our event center at Five Points entails: loading in and setting banquet tables and chairs, dance floor, and any other items requested. Set-Up is done in the day or evening hours beforethe event day.
Tear- Down is in the late evening after the event on weekends or morning, depending on the day.
