Aquatic Class Instructor -Part time

Join our team of Aquatic Instructors! Use your knowledge of exercise and translate that to the water to help our members improve their health and physical fitness!

Classes are offered Monday-Friday in the mornings and evenings. All classes are 45 minutes long. We have classes for every level of fitness.

 Experience

  • Must have experience as an aquatic instructor, fitness instructor, or be familiar with water classes and exercise
  • Experience with special populations and all age groups and fitness levels
  • Candidates must be available in the mornings during the week or the evenings consistently

Job Duties include but are not limited to:

  • Developing and assisting members with exercise routines
  • Demonstrating appropriate and safe exercises

Custodial Lead

As an essential member of the center’s leadership team, Custodial Lead supervise and coordinate custodial staff responsible for cleaning the facility. The main duties are assigning tasks and evaluating the work of custodial employees while making sure the activity complies with safety and procedural standards.

Summary of essential job functions:
Under the supervision of the Assistant General Manager of Five Points the custodial Lead will be responsible for:

• Performing daily facility cleaning, assigning tasks, and evaluate the cleaning of the custodial team
• Assisting in interviewing and hiring custodial team
• Assisting in ordering and inventorying all janitorial equipment and supplies
• Motivate, correction of performance and discipline of custodial staff
• Employee scheduling, training and assist in facilitating meetings
• Preparation of facility for programs, meetings, events, and rentals
• Enforcing all safety procedures, maintain safety data sheet and OSHA compliance
• Performing all other duties as assigned

Minimum requirements:
-Minimum qualifications include high school degree or equivalent
-One year of leadership experience in the custodial field

Essential Functions:
The work requires physical exertion in handling supplies, equipment and materials that are relative to the services rendered. Prolonged standing, bending, stooping, and twisting are required; ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds on each leg of a repetitive unloading and reloading process; activities involving risks which are typically associated with athletic, recreational and facility rental events; normal safety precautions typical of these areas of services are required. Exposure to power equipment, indoor cleaning agents and solutions and various hand tools will be required.

Fund Development Director (full-time)

Job summary:

Five Points Washington is a 143,000 sq/ft facility that houses a fitness center, family leisure and 8 lane competition pools, 1,020 seat auditorium, banquet facility, meeting rooms, senior center, and library.   As an essential member of the Center’s leadership team, the Fund Development Director will be responsible for the development and implementation of a comprehensive fundraising strategy that includes a comprehensive communication platform and donor recognition program.

 

Summary of essential job functions:

Under the supervision of the General Manger of the Center the Fund Development Director will be responsible for:

  • Inform, engage, and involve Five Points Board of Directors and staff to support fund development and related activities.
  • Develop and implement fundraising plans to include annual fund, grants, major gifts, and Estate Planning.
  • Develop and implement a communication strategy that clearly and concisely conveys Five Points mission; what we do, why we do it, and how it benefits Washington specifically as well as the central Illinois region.
  • Coordinate cultivation of existing donors through targeted outreach, communications, and event strategies.
  • Identify and coordinate cultivation of new donor prospects through suggestions from staff, past and current board members, existing donors, colleagues, and other viable sources.
  • Prepare and develop communication strategy for ongoing donor and sponsor engagement.
  • Implement an effective digital donor recognition system.
  • Maintain a donor database and execute prompt acknowledgment of donations.
  • Coordinate and plan donor events.
  • Preparing written reports and making presentations to the governing board and other groups as assigned.
  • Performing all other duties as assigned.

 

Experience and Qualifications:

  • Knowledge of non-profit fundraising techniques and strategies; an enthusiasm for raising funds and experience in fund development.
  • 7 years’ minimum experience in fund raising for nonprofits or equivalent experience.
  • Strong Written communication skills: ability to write clear, structured, articulate, and persuasive donor communications.
  • Excellent verbal communication skills (in-person and via telephone); ability to communicate effectively with a diverse group of board members, staff, and other key stakeholders.
  • Excellent organizational skills: ability to develop project work plans, handle multiple concurrent assignments, and meet deadlines.
  • Strong administrative and computer work skills including proficiency with MS Word and Excel, data base management and electronic marketing systems.

Lifeguards are key members of the team and are responsible for the safety of all our members and guests using one of our pools. Personal Trainer-Five Points Washington

The Washington area Community Center is a 136,000 sq/ft facility that houses a fitness center, family leisure and 8 lane competition pools, 1,020 seat auditorium, banquet facility, meeting rooms, senior center, and library.

The position of Personal Trainer will be responsible for training clients in the gym with the possibility of remote clients via a training app.

Summary of essential job functions:

Under the supervision of the Fitness Manager, the Personal Trainer will be responsible for:

  • Willing to work a minimum of 20 hours per week. Flexible schedule.
  • Certification through a reputable training certification company

Full-Time Lead, Five Points Washington

 

Job summary:

Five Points Washington is a 143,000 sq/ft facility that houses a fitness center, 2 court gymnasium, family leisure and 8 lane competition pools, 1,020 seat auditorium, banquet facility, meeting rooms, senior room, and library.

As an essential member of the Center’s leadership team, Full-time Lead will supervise and coordinate clubhouse attendants, assist the assistant general manager of fitness in the management of front desk & shift lead staff. Full-time lead will be required to work 40 hours per week between Front desk and clubhouse, in addition to other shifts as needed. The main duties are training, motivating, and evaluating the work of part-time employees while making sure the activity complies with safety and procedural standards.

Special Event Lead/Attendant

Job Description:
Summary of Essential Job Functions Under the supervision of the Special Events Banquet Manager, Event Leads/Attendants will be responsible for:

• Assists all guests, vendors, and caterers with questions or requests throughout the evening to ensure a cohesive and positive experience for everyone

• Responsible for the supervision of all on-site staff members when a manager is not present

• Ensure that all areas are properly sanitized, and general upkeep is met o This includes, but is not limited to: prep stations, table linens, spot vacuuming, disposing of all trash, coffee makers, tea makers, beverage dispensers, etc.

• Follow all designated closing procedures to ensure that areas are secure

• Assists the bartender with barback type duties

• Consistent and effective communication with the banquet office regarding event progress, outcomes, and overall experience

• Performing any other job duties as assigned by the Special Events Banquet Manager Qualifications

• Must be 18 years of age and older

• Excellent customer service skills are required

• Ability to work in a team environment, as well as independently

A unique position that provides a flexible schedule. Set up in our event center at Five Points entails: loading in and setting banquet tables and chairs, dance floor, and any other items requested. Set-Up is done in the day or evening hours before the event day.
Tear- Down is in the late evening after the event on weekends or morning, depending on the day.

Theater Manager

Facility Description & Job Summary:
The Washington Area Community Center (DBA: Five Points Washington) is a 143,000 sq/ft facility that houses a fitness center, family leisure and 8 lane competition pools, 1,020 seat auditorium, banquet facility, meeting rooms, senior center, and library. As an essential member of the Community Center’s leadership team, the Special Events  Manager, theater will be responsible for actively soliciting new business and entertainment offerings as well as ensuring the highest level of client satisfaction with special events from first contact through the entirety of event.  This position will also assist in the area banquet area, but not as a primary function of their job.

 

Summary of Essential Job Functions:

Under the supervision of the Events Venue Manager, the Theater Manager has the following responsibilities:

  • Planning and coordinating a wide variety of events to be held in the theater to include rental opportunities and event entertainment.
  • Handling all aspects of special events including preparation, planning, and execution day of event.
  • Training and overseeing team members assisting with an event to ensure the highest service standards are consistently being met.
  • Working alongside Banquet Manager in planning and executing outdoor events.
  • Track event key performance areas and identify items to work on for the future.
  • Maintain the liquor license and inventory.
  • Maintaining accounting records for all functions/events and issuing invoices and collecting payments in a timely manner
  • Maintaining a strong working relationship with renters and vendors.
  • Establishing and maintaining relationships with industry influencers and key community and strategic partners.
  • Measuring customer satisfaction and initiating actions to continuously improve.
  • Preparing and submitting records and reports including attendance, customer satisfaction, payroll, activity schedules and others as requested.
  • Managing and securing Sponsorship dollars for events
  • Managing concessions for events
  • Performing all other duties as assigned.

Required Education, Experience, & Skills:

Minimum qualifications include: a 4 year degree in Marketing, Business, Hospitality, Event Management or related field; 5-years’ experience in like field; supervisory experience; budgeting experience; passionate about customer service; professional communication skills, highly organized with attention to detail; knowledge of food and beverage standards with an understanding of sequence of service.  Although a degree is preferred, consideration will be given to candidates with extensive experience in a like position with similar duties and responsibilities.
