Community Gallery Wall

Community Gallery Wall

We are excited to unveil the Five Points Community Gallery Wall, a new initiative created to showcase the incredible artistic talent of our community!

This program not only highlights the diverse creativity in Central Illinois, but also provides a unique platform for artists to educate, display and sell their work. From the Washington Historical Society to Washington High School, community organizations will also have the chance to feature their collections and host special art-focused events.

We welcome the entire community to experience and celebrate the incredible talent of our local artists.  The community gallery wall can be found in the south end hallway of our facility, near the Caterpillar Performing Arts Theater. This vibrant space will bring together local artists and art organizations to showcase stunning pieces of art!

PAST ARTIST

They say that art tells a story. If mine tells a story I think my message is that I want to add color and brightness to everyone's life. I create to express myself, to bring fun and color into the world. Creating isn't just something I do ... it's who I am.

Ati Peterson

Wherever the journey takes her, Ati Peterson seeks out locals to learn about their favorite places and traditions. Beautiful scenery and wonderful memories inspire the paintings she creates in Washington, IL.

I'm intrigued by how materials transform because of saturation, density and opacity, in chemical combinations, with heat and pressure, and especially visually from context and distance.

FEBRUARY 23 - MARCH 30

I am an artist whose work is a blend of memory and imagination, captured in ink, acrylic, and watercolor. My art reflects the facets of myself—the moments, the feelings, and the thoughts I hold about the world around me. It is a snapshot of time, a personal reflection on people, animals, objects, and the spaces we inhabit. I approach my work with seriousness and depth, constantly thinking and reflecting on the world. But I am also irreverent; I like to poke fun, to challenge conventions, and to question what we take for granted. My work is my protest, a reminder that life is too short to paint anything other than what truly pleases me.

April 6 - May 10

Thanks to our generous donors, Sharon and John Amdall, for continuing to be champions of the local art community and funding this project to help us connect and bring local artists to Five Points Washington. The Community Gallery Wall would not be possible without their generosity and support.
