Experience
- Education in exercise science or related field

Job Duties include, but are not limited to:
- Performing fitness assessments on clients and/or members and interpret results

Maintenance Assistant, Five Points Washington
Job summary:
The Washington area Community Center is a 136,000 sq/ft facility that houses a fitness center, family leisure and eight lane competition pools, 1,020-seat auditorium, banquet facility, meeting rooms, senior center, and library.
The position of Maintenance Assistant will be responsible for: Daily pool chemical and pool equipment inspections, daily equipment, building and outdoor upkeep and repair. Diagnosing and repair of electrical wear items (lights/ballast). Grounds keeping, HVAC monitoring and repair, Fitness equipment repair, etc.
Summary of essential job functions:
Under the supervision of the Maintenance Foreman of the Center the Maintenance Assistant will be responsible for:
- Performing daily facility inspections and maintenance as assigned.
- Performing outdoor maintenance functions.
- Assisting in equipment repairs as needed.
- Assisting in the performance of daily check lists and maintenance procedure items.
- Operating standard mechanized equipment.
- Preparation of facility for programs, meetings, and rentals.
- Follow all safety procedures that pertain to the duties performed.
- Regular pool maintenance.
- Facility painting, interior/exterior. From ladders, scaffolding, and lifts.
- Performing all other duties as assigned.
Minimum requirements:
Minimum qualifications include:Â High School degree or equivalent. Working knowledge of general maintenance and repair procedures and practices; ability to maintain appropriate standards of cleanliness and sanitation; and ability to perform routine grounds keeping functions as directed.
Essential Functions:
The work requires physical exertion in handling supplies, equipment and materials that are relative to the services rendered. Prolonged standing, bending, stooping, and twisting are required; ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds on each leg of a repetitive unloading and reloading process; activities involving risks which are typically associated with athletic, recreational and facility rental events; normal safety precautions typical of these areas of services are required. Exposure to power equipment, outdoors field equipment, implements and chemicals, indoor cleaning agents and solutions and various hand tools will be required.
Continuing Education:
- CPO certification (Certified Pool Operator)

Personal Trainer
The position of Personal Trainer will be responsible for training clients in the gym with the possibility of remote clients.
The Personal Trainer will be under the supervision of the Fitness Manager.
Summary of Essential Job Functions:
- Willing to work 10+ hours per week, flexible schedule
- Dual role of in-person and digital personal training (as needed)
- Available daytime/during the week/evenings/weekends
Job Qualifications:
- Certification through a reputable training certification company
- Four-year Exercise Science or related degree preferred
- Digital Personal Training a plus
- Must have reliable internet access
- Experience working with female clients

Private and Semi-Private Swim Lesson Instructor
Private and semi-private lessons are a great option for individualized instruction for swimmers of all ages and abilities. From participants who want to focus on specific skills or who just thrive working 1-on-1 with an instructor. Adults and children with special needs have also significantly benefitted from our private lesson program. Interested parties complete a lesson request form indicating their preferred days and times. Instructors may pick up any lesson they wish, as long as there is no preferred instructor. If the preferred instructor is unavailable, it is open to anyone. Private lessons are limited to 1 participant per instructor; semi-private lessons can have up to 3 participants. Lesson packages are available in singles, or packages of 4 or 8. Lessons are also for 30 minutes.
Job Expectations:
- Candidates should have a strong background in swimming and/or have taught lessons previously
- Candidates should be comfortable working with children of all ages
- Candidates will evaluate clients and create a swim program designed for each child’s swimming needs
- Provide consistent, quality instruction, while maintaining the safety of all participants
- Instructors are responsible for getting out and putting away their own lesson equipment; equipment needs to be put away in an orderly manner
- Although lifeguards are on duty and will make rescues as needed, participant safety is the responsibility of the instructor
- For this reason, all participants must remain seated on the wall when it is not their turn
- Every effort should be made to position yourself in a way that lets you see all of your class participants throughout the entire lesson; your back should never be to your class
- Instructors are in control of their own schedule with the private and semi-private lesson format
- It is the responsibility of the instructors to contact any requests that they pick up within 24 hours and schedule them at a mutually agreed upon date and time
- Any lessons canceled must be given at least 24 hours’ notice
- Instructor schedules should be consistent.
- All instructors must use our software to track and enter lessons
- The lessons must be entered at the time of each session and verified by the participant or guardian
- If whoever brings the child does not know the pin to verify the lesson, a lesson verification slip must be completed
- Instructors must provide the participant or guardian with their phone number in order to reach them for cancellations
- Cancellations made to the Aquatics Manager's voicemail may not get communicated to the instructor on time in the evenings or on weekends
- Instructors should schedule any lessons around pool events that would interfere with either the lesson or the event
- Submit lesson schedules weekly to management
- Communicate to participants about lesson standings
- Instructors are required to wear the red instructor rash guard provided by Five Points
- Females can wear any midriff covering suit while in the water including one pieces and tankinis
- Females must also wear swim shorts
- Males can wear any trunks as long as they do not contain inappropriate lettering or logos
- Speedos/Racers may not be worn
- Tattoos are fine as are ear piercings, but any facial piercings must be removed while working
- Jewelry that might result in accidently scratching a child, should not be worn
- New instructors will be required to shadow current staff and do an orientation with the manager

Technical Assistant
Job Summary
Performs a wide variety of duties related to the technical aspects of the Caterpillar Performing Arts Center. Assists with the technical aspects of productions and other scheduled events; performs other duties as required. Part-time varying hours per week when events are scheduled. Weekend and evening hours as per event schedule.
Distinguishing Characteristics:Â
The technical assistant has the responsibility for assisting with the technical operations of the Caterpillar Performing Arts Center events and projects including lighting, sound and stage design and/or execution and coordinating necessary maintenance. The technical assistant works with a great deal of independence and exercise independent judgment in performing a wide variety of duties.
Summary of Essential Job Functions:Â
Under the supervision of the Technical Director, Technical Lead person and the Banquet Manager of Five Points Washington, the Technical assistant will be responsible for:
- Coordinating with artists/users to determine necessary technical supports
- Such as lighting, sound, staging and special needs necessary for events and performances presented at the Caterpillar Performing Arts Center
- Designs, sets up, maintains and operates lighting as well as sound systems
- For theater, dance, music, artist series and other productions or projects
- Assists guest designers and artists
- Monitors the condition of equipment including lighting, sound and rigging equipment
- Arranges for the repair and replacement, within budgetary constraints
- Performs preventative maintenance on equipment.
Qualifications:Â
- Equivalent of an Associate’s degree in technical theater arts, dance, music, communications or related field
- 2-3 years field experience in the areas of audio, sound and lighting productions
- Strong knowledge and experience in all aspects of technical theater, including lighting, sound, and stage design
- Excellent communication skills
- Ability to work with culturally-diverse groups
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:Â
- Knowledge of techniques, methods and procedures (including lighting, sound, stage, set and lighting design) of theater, dance and music productions as well as other presentations
- Stage management
- Computerized lighting systems
- Appropriate safety precautions and procedures
- Ability to analyze and evaluate the needs for various events or performances
- Communicate effectively both orally and in writing
- Design lighting and sound systems appropriate to each performance or oversee stage crews and volunteers
- Perform minor repairs and preventative maintenance on equipment
- Establish and maintain effective working relationships with representatives from various groups, vendors, co-workers and others
- Maintain irregular and extended working hours
- Able to lift, push or pull objects up to 100 pounds using appropriate tools
