Five Points Fridays – August 22

Joining us this month for our last Five Points Fridays of the season is Sista and the Misters Band! Central Illinois Cruisers will also be here showcasing some cars in our car show.
This year at Five Points Fridays, we have held monthly initiatives that we have been taking part in. For the month of August, we will be joined by the Washington Chamber of Commerce to help us celebrate Washington’s Bicentennial. We will have live music, food trucks, kids activities, a car show and more. This FREE event is open to the public and takes place from 6-9 p.m.
About the Band:

“Sista And The Misters isn’t just a cover band—they’re a full-blown entertainment experience! Based in Central Illinois, this dynamic group has been electrifying audiences across the Midwest with their signature blend of country, rock, pop, and funk. Whether it’s a small-town bar or a massive festival stage, they deliver unforgettable performances that keep fans coming back for more.
With Amy’s powerhouse vocals, Tim’s fiery guitar licks, Claude’s explosive drumming, and Todd’s rock-solid bass grooves, Sista And The Misters is a musical force that brings the party wherever they go. Playing an impressive 50 to 75 shows a year, their reputation for fun, engaging shows is cemented in venues like Winterset Cidery in Iowa, Psycho Silo near Langley, IL, and the Illinois State Fair, as well as iconic events like the Redneck Fishing Tournament and more. Big stage, small stage, near or far—they’re ready to light it up!
Amy (Lead Vocals) – The ultimate frontwoman, Amy’s voice is as powerful as it is versatile—soaring high notes, soulful tones, and everything in between. Known for her unmatched energy and charisma, she can turn any crowd into die-hard fans. When she’s not commanding the stage, she’s fueled by her love of music, coffee, and the occasional Twisted Tea.
Claude (Drums) – Claude is the heartbeat of Sista And The Misters, delivering high-octane beats that get the crowd moving. He’s not just a drummer; he’s a showman, known for his wicked sense of humor and unexpected talents, like making balloon animals mid-set. If you’re looking for energy, look no further—Claude is bringing it!
Todd (Bass) – The groove master himself, Todd lays down basslines so deep you’ll feel them in your soul. The band’s resident movie buff, he’s as passionate about cult classics as he is about keeping the rhythm tight. (Ask him about Army of Darkness—if you dare!)
Tim (Guitar) – Tim’s guitar skills are nothing short of legendary. Whether he’s ripping a face-melting solo or dropping playful Where’s Waldo tips between songs, he’s the band’s secret weapon. With charisma and talent to spare, Tim keeps every show engaging, exciting, and unforgettable.”

What is Five Points Fridays?
Five Points Fridays began during the COVID-19 pandemic as a way to safely bring the community together, offering a space for people to enjoy live music, food trucks and outdoor activities while maintaining social distancing. Over the years, these events have grown into a cherished tradition, fostering a strong sense of community while providing access to music and the arts. With live performances, arts and crafts for kids and a welcoming environment for all ages, attendees have a chance to connect with their neighbors and engage in creative activities. Each month features a new initiative, such as mental health awareness in May, Touch-A-Truck in June and an adoption event with TCAC in July. August will feature a special Bicentennial celebration and car show. These events continue to strengthen local bonds and create lasting memories for the people of Washington.
Thank you to our Five Points Fridays Sponsors: Mosquito Joe, the Ryan Blackorby Team from Jim Maloof, Signature Heights Realty, Nicole Miller with Edward Jones and Kep’s Sports Bar & Grill.
