Private and Semi Private Swim Lessons (for ages 2+)

We offer private swim lessons at Five Points Washington’s Aquatic Center all year round!  We have a wonderful team of instructors that want to help you learn how to swim in a comfortable setting that meets you where you are.  Our trained staff will work with you or your child to give you the best experience possible.  We would like you to meet our team of instructors below!

Our private swim lessons offer flexible scheduling based off of your availability. All lessons are 30 minutes in length. These customized lessons are a great option for everyone! To get started, submit a lesson request today! Once your request is received we will begin pairing you with an instructor!

Children must be 2 or older to sign up for swim lessons.

Currently, we are asking that you submit your request about 1-2 weeks before you would like to begin.

Fall/school year scheduling is a few weeks out. This gives our instructors time to plan their schedules and move around current lessons.

We recommend submitting a request 2-3 weeks before you would like to begin.

General Lesson Information

  • All lessons are 30 minutes in length.
  • ALL PRICES ARE PER PARTICIPANT. FOR SEMI-PRIVATES YOU MUST HAVE 2-3 PARTICIPANTS INTERESTED. FIVE POINTS DOES NOT PAIR PARTICIPANTS UP FOR A SEMI-PRIVATE TRAINING.
  • Those interested in semi-private lessons should be on similar skill levels to ensure the best instruction possible.
  • Our private lessons offer flexible scheduling based on your availability and do not take place on any set days or times. Once you submit a request form you are paired with an instructor within two weeks who will contact you directly to discuss scheduling. *When there is a high volume of requests it may take longer to be paired with an instructor, especially if you indicate a limited availability. Payment will not be collected until you are scheduled with an instructor. All payments must be done in person at our front desk.

All of our swim instructors go through in-house training and have a background in swimming and experience with children to ensure they give the best lesson possible.

I have been swimming almost my whole life, I’ve been on year-round teams since I was 5 which has helped me gain experience in every part of swimming. I can teach beginner swimmers all the way up to those wanting to become competitive swimmers. I would love to work with all ages, abilities, and skill levels. I am also available to teach special needs lessons. I truly believe swimming is a skill everyone should learn. If you are thinking of signing up for privates, I would love the opportunity to help you reach your goals!

I love swimming and have been doing it since I was a baby. I competitively swam until I was 13. I enjoy teaching kids from age 4 to 13 and can teach beginners and intermediate swimmers. My favorite part of teaching is seeing how far the kids have come after just a few lessons. I can’t wait to teach your child how to swim!

I believe that water safety and swimming are great skills to have in life! I currently attend Washington Community High School. I love helping people and enjoy seeing the kids grow as they continue their lessons. My overall goal is to help your child feel comfortable and confident in the water. I would love the opportunity to help your child achieve their swimming goals!

I go to Washington Community High School and swim on the school’s team. I am available to teach all skills levels and all ages 4 and up. The thing I enjoy most about teaching is seeing a kid recognize they’re getting better and overcome any fears they may have. I have swim experience from prior private lessons and my high school swim team.

Robert teaches all skill levels and teaches special needs lessons.

I am available most Saturdays and Sundays and some weekdays after 6 or 7.

I have been swimming competitively for the past 9 years of my life. I think swimming is a very important skill that every child should have the opportunity to learn. I love working with children of all ages. I especially love introducing little ones to the water and helping them grow in their confidence with swimming. I am currently a Freshman at Washington Community High School and was able to compete on their swim team this past fall. This experience has taught me how to teach better and instill proper technique. I have several young siblings and have experience working with all of them in and out of the water. My favorite part about teaching swim lessons is to see the look on children’s faces when they exceed their expectations. I love swimming! I have been swimming competitively since I was nine years old, but I have always had a deep fondness for swimming. I have swum on club teams, summer teams, and highschool teams. I teach 3–10 year-olds at intermediate to advanced levels. I believe that the ability to swim is an essential life skill, and I love being able to teach something that I am passionate about to others! I take delight in getting to know each child that I teach. As an instructor, I believe it is important to make learning to swim a fun and enjoyable experience for children. Hello! I’m Parker Philips, and I love to swim. I’m on the swim team at WCHS and I also lifeguard at the Park District Pool. Swimming is my passion, and I look forward to sharing that with your kids. I like to help kids ages 6+ who have the basics of swimming down, but are eager to learn more! I l love to watch kids feel like they really are improving. I can’t wait to see you in the pool!

I'm available on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 4:30 to 6:30. However, once school is over, I will be able to work earlier on those days.

I love to work with kids ages 3-9, my favorite part about teaching lessons are the connections and growth that I get to see with the children. I chose to teach lessons because I feel as if this can both be a fun time in a pool and a lifesaving skill to know. One fun fact about me is that I have an identical twin brother! I do believe that swimming is important in so many ways. I would love to be able to teach your child!!

I am super passionate about swimming as a valuable life skill and also as a sport, and I’ve swam for 7 years now, on summer teams, PAWW, and for the Washington high school team. Outside of swim, I love 2D and 3D arts, playing the trombone, and spending time with family and friends. My favorite thing about teaching is seeing the kids get excited when they do something that didn’t think they could or get over their fears. When it comes to teaching, I feel like building trust and connections with the kids is really important when it comes to being able to communicate and encourage them to do their best.

I love to swim and it’s a huge part of my life! I swim on the high school swim team for Washington, and I have been swimming on PAWW since I was eight. I like to teach 3–12-year-olds with any kind of skill level. I think being able to swim is an amazing life skill, so that’s one of the many reasons why I love to teach lessons! Another reason I love teaching lessons is getting to share something with kids that I love and am passionate about. I’m also never bored when working with children, and they are always coming up with amazing new ideas and perspectives.
