A Romantic Finale – Presented by Heartland Festival Orchestra

Sat, May 28 @ 7:30 pm - 9:30 pm

MELISSA WHITE, VIOLIN

Our season finale is rich with beauty and romance. American violinist Melissa White has enchanted audiences and critics around the world as both a soloist and a chamber musician. Her recent performance with the National Philharmonic was deemed “absolutely breathtaking”, and praised for the “grace, precision, and warmth” of her playing. Melissa interprets Samuel Barber’s Violin Concerto – a work famed for both its lyricism and astonishing technical demands. George Walker’s Lyric for Strings belongs with Barber’s masterwork among the greatest classics to have come from America in the 20th Century. Dvorak’s joyful Eight Symphony will conclude our concert and season in triumph.
