ADAPT-FUNCTIONAL HEALTH COACH
Barb Woods has had in depth training in the ADAPT-Functional health coach program through the Kresser Institute. This is a National Board for Health and Wellness Coaching accredited program and is considered to be the most comprehensive health coach training program available today.
She has been taught to facilitate the development of personal wellness goals utilizing strategic planning, values clarification, brain-storming, motivational interviewing, accountability and non-judgmental coaching techniques.
Barb is also a cooking instructor and demonstrates tasty and healthy recipes in cooking classes at Lori’s Kitchen Store on the square in Washington. She specializes in developing delicious and nutritious whole food recipes with modifications for food sensitivities. She is very experienced with how to incorporate nutritionally dense foods into diets as a way to eliminate problem foods and in using natural whole foods that allow us to feel satisfied without feeling deprived or hungry.
Barb also can help with implementing an elimination diet for those who need it due to food sensitivities or auto-immune problems. She offers recipes, cooking tips and food swaps for the diet that fits a person’s individual needs.
Barb is someone who knows first-hand the huge improvement that changes to diet and lifestyle can make for well-being. She was able to reverse her own symptoms of asthma, irritable bowel syndrome, pre-diabetes, Hashimotos Thyroiditis and severe histamine reactions such as sneezing, watery eyes and skin rashes.
