SUMMARY:Lifeguard Certification Class - October
DESCRIPTION:Looking to earn your Lifeguard Certification? \n  \nAt Five Points Washington\, we value pool safety above all else. No one wants their child to be hurt in the water. That’s why we teach you how to enforce proper safety measures and prevent others from drowning through our American Red Cross Lifeguard Certification Courses. \n  \nThe class will be limited to 10 participants plus an instructor. Class takes place on October 5th and 6th from 9AM-6PM both days. Prerequisites are on September 27th from 6-7 PM or by appt. \n  \nClasses will most likely end before the posted times each day\, but per the Red Cross we must post the maximum suggested run times. The instructor will keep the participants up to date on times. \n  \nPrerequisites: \n\nParticipants must be at least 15 years of age\nSuccessfully complete a 150-yard continuous swim using front crawl\, breaststroke\, or a combination of both.\nSuccessfully tread water for 2 minutes using legs only.\ncomplete another 50 yard swim swim using front crawl\, breaststroke\, or a combination of both.\nSuccessfully swim 20 yards\, retrieve a 10 lb object from a depth of 7-10 ft using a surface dive\, then return to starting point swimming with both hands on the object and keeping face at or near the surface of the water.\n\nFailure to complete the prerequisites will result in removal from the course. Participants may practice prerequisites at Five Points at a pre-arranged time. \nNo shows or late cancellations to any class date will void any refund as other participants could have participated in your slot. \n  \nClass Format/Requirements:\nOur initial certification course is a blended learning course. Participants will meet on the first day of class to perform the prerequisite swim tests\, receive their materials for the course\, and begin their introduction into the course. They will have the time between that date and the next scheduled class date to complete the online learning portion of the course. The last 2 days of class are in-person training and will conclude the course. \nParticipants must be in attendance for the entire length of the in-person course and complete the entire online learning portion prior to concluding the course. In order to pass the course\, participants must successfully demonstrate all land scenarios and in-water skills and complete a multiple-choice test with a score of 80% or higher. \n  \nCost:\nInitial Certification Courses are $375\nAll certifications are valid for 2 years \nRegister HERE. \n  \nFor more information\, contact Brad Weaver at bradw@fivepointswashington.org or call him at 309-444-8222×48.

Since then\, Grant has been strumming her way through a thirty-plus year adventure as a singer-songwriter\, author\, television host\, and speaker. \nEarly on\, Grant’s iconic voice became instantly recognizable in both the Christian and pop worlds. DESCRIPTION:HAPPY HALLOWEEN! Thursday\, October 31st from 9-10AM\, come and show off your Halloween costume at Five Points! We invite all of our Five Points Clubhouse kiddos to join us for our annual Halloween Parade! \n  \nAny children interested in attending should arrive in their costume at the Kids Clubhouse by 9:00AM on October 31st. \n  \nThe Clubhouse staff will lead the children around Five Points in a parade\, so the kiddos can show off their Halloween costumes to our members and management throughout the building. This is a great chance for them to have fun and do a little bit of trick-or-treating! The parade should last about an hour. \n  \nAll children should bring their own sack\, candy basket\, etc. to collect candy in. Parents are welcome to stay and join the parade or they can get their workout in while watching the parade! After the parade\, everyone will meet back at the Clubhouse for pick up. This is a fun morning for everyone and we hope that you and your children can join us! \n  \n** If you are not interested in attending the Halloween parade\, the Clubhouse will be closed for general attendance during this time: October 31 from 9-10AM. Staff will be busy taking children around for the parade. If your child arrives during this time\, they will be asked to join the parade line.**  \n  \nQuestions?
