DESCRIPTION:Join us on December 14 for our 3rd  annual Dodgeball Tournament benefitting Toys for Tots.  The Tournament will start at 12:00PM and take place in the Five Points Washington gymnasium. \n  \nTeams of 8 players can register for the Tournament; all players must be 18+. Team entries need to be submitted by 5PM on December 13 (the day before the tournament). Registration for the tournament is one toy donation for our annual Toy Drive. Bring your new\, unwrapped toy with you on the day of the tournament. \nRegister your team HERE. \n  \nThe tournament will have a double elimination tournament style. Brackets will be sent to the team captain once all teams have been registered and placed. During our No Gain Campaign\, we are challenging EVERYONE to maintain their weight during the holiday season. Whether you get your workout in through our Group Fitness Classes\, in our Aquatics Center\, on your own on our fitness floor or through other activities like Pickleball or Basketball\, this challenge is for you! \n\n  \nOur first weigh-in for this challenge will take place the week of November 25-28. This is your starting weight that you will work to maintain. You will come to the scale in the upstairs Functional Training Studio to weigh-in. You will write your weight on a piece of paper and drop it in the box at the fitness floor desk. These weights will be kept confidential\, they will NOT be posted anywhere. Group Fitness Coordinator\, Leslie Anderson\, will hang on to them until your second weigh-in. \n  \nThe second weigh-in will take place the week of January 6-8. You will again come to the scale in the upstairs Functional Training Studio to weigh-in. *We recommend wearing the same or similar clothing to your weigh-in\, so you get the most accurate reading. \n  \nAfter the second weigh-in\, Leslie will compare your weight from the two weigh-ins to see if you were able to maintain your weight. Those that are able to maintain during the holiday season will receive a prize! \n  \nCost to participate is $10 and you can register at the front desk. DESCRIPTION:Introducing\, our first Co-Ed Young Adult Friday Night Leagues! Throughout the winter (November-February)\, we will offer 4 different recreational leagues to get you and your friends up and active. These leagues are open to anyone 18-years and older. These co-ed leagues are a great way to meet some new friends and stay active during the winter. \n  \nPickleball League \nNovember 1-22 from 5-7PM on Fridays \nRegister teams of 2 \n4 weeks of play \n$40/member team \n$60/non-member team \nRegistration is open at the front desk \n**10 Teams Maximum for the League** \n  \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n**If you can’t make it right at 5PM\, let us know when you sign-up. You will still have plenty of time to get all of your games in for the evening once you arrive.\n\n\n\nYour paddle will be added to the line-up as soon as you arrive.\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n  \nMake sure to follow our Facebook event for more information about the league and to meet your new friends in the league: Facebook Page. \n  \n  \n\nAbout our Pickleball League \nEach Friday night\, you and your team will come in and see how many games of Pickleball you can play. Everyone will place their paddles in a bucket and the first set of teams will be drawn out of the bucket to play (6 teams). If your paddle isn’t drawn\, your team will wait until a court opens up. You will play a single game against each team. When playing your games\, if you win\, you get to stay on the court. If you lose\, you will head to the sidelines and wait for your next turn. This is a recreational league so wins and loses will not be kept track of. We are here to have fun! Obviously\, the more you win\, the more games you get to play. \n  \n\nWe will honor traditional scoring for Pickleball games. See below for more information about Pickleball rules. \n\n  \nHow to Play Pickleball \nPickleball is played on a badminton-sized court: 20’ x 44.’ The ball is served diagonally (starting with the right-hand service-square)\, and points can only be scored by the side that serves. \nPlayers on each side must let the ball bounce once before volleys are allowed\, and there is a seven-foot no-volley zone on each side of the net\, to prevent “spiking.” The server continues to serve\, alternating service courts\, until he or she faults. The first side scoring eleven points and leading by at least two points wins.   \n  \nCourt and Gear \nPickleball is traditionally played special Pickleball paddles\, made of wood or high-tech aerospace materials. The ball used is similar to a wiffle ball\, but slightly smaller. The lower net and wiffle ball allow the game to be accessible to people of all ages and abilities\, while still allowing more competitive players to test their mettle. \n  \nThe Serve \nServes are to be made diagonally\, starting with the right-hand service-square and alternating each serve. The serve must clear the seven-foot non-volley-zone in front of the net and land in the diagonal service court. \n  \nServes should always be done underhand with the paddle below the waist\, and the server must keep one foot behind the back line when serving. The ball should be hit into the air without being bounced. The serving side will continue to serve until the there is a fault on the service\, at which point the service will be given to the opposing side. (However\, if the ball touches the net but still lands within the appropriate service court\, the serve may be taken over.) \n  \n\nThe serving team may decide who will serve first with a coin toss. The winner of the coin toss will have the option to choose whether or not to serve first. \n\n  \nVolleys \nTo volley means to hit a ball in the air without first letting it bounce. In Pickleball\, this can only be done when the player’s feet are behind the non-volley zone line (seven feet behind the net). \n  \nDouble-Bounce Rule \nEach team must play their first shot off of the bounce. That is\, the receiving team must let the serve bounce and the serving team must let the return of the serve bounce before playing it. SUMMARY:Kids Clubhouse Halloween Parade
DESCRIPTION:HAPPY HALLOWEEN! Thursday\, October 31st from 9-10AM\, come and show off your Halloween costume at Five Points! We invite all of our Five Points Clubhouse kiddos to join us for our annual Halloween Parade! \n  \nAny children interested in attending should arrive in their costume at the Kids Clubhouse by 9:00AM on October 31st. \n  \nThe Clubhouse staff will lead the children around Five Points in a parade\, so the kiddos can show off their Halloween costumes to our members and management throughout the building. This is a great chance for them to have fun and do a little bit of trick-or-treating! The parade should last about an hour. \n  \nAll children should bring their own sack\, candy basket\, etc. to collect candy in. Parents are welcome to stay and join the parade or they can get their workout in while watching the parade! After the parade\, everyone will meet back at the Clubhouse for pick up. This is a fun morning for everyone and we hope that you and your children can join us! \n  \n** If you are not interested in attending the Halloween parade\, the Clubhouse will be closed for general attendance during this time: October 31 from 9-10AM.
