SUMMARY:Five Points Speaker Series - Pictorial Journey of San Francisco's 1906 Earthquake with Rebecca Dailey
DESCRIPTION:Karolinn Schmidt O’Conner was in San Francisco at the time of the great quake of 1906. Her photographs of the devastation were discovered in the mid-1980’s in the bottom of an old trunk in the attic of her sister’s home in Peoria. \n\n\n\n  \n\nHer great niece\, Rebecca Dailey\, inherited these original photographs from her father. She used her photographic skills to restore them and did extensive research to assemble a historical journey from before and after the quake. She has presented her research and the collection at Illinois State University\, Butler University and a variety of community organizations in the area. \n\n  \nMeet Rebecca Dailey: \nRebecca Dailey received her Photographic Craftsman Degree in 1992 through the Professional Photographers of America. Through the years\, she has received various awards for print competition and several credits for speaking programs. \nShe has been a photo artist since 1965. Her career started with Burchett Studio in Peoria\, Illinois. DESCRIPTION:Come and learn how to play Pickleball with Joyce Hughes. Pickleball is a lively racket game for all ages and abilities. Pickleball was created with one thing in mind\, FUN! It was designed to be easy to learn and play whether you’re five\, eighty-five or somewhere in between. We offer both a beginner and intermediate class. Each four week class will teach proper grip\, how to keep score\, rules of the game\, stroke\, serve and etiquette.  \nAdult Intermediate Class requires knowledge of the game\, keeping score and different strokes. This class will work on strategy and court position. Drills and match play will also be introduced. \n  \n*Wear your workout clothes and court shoes. DESCRIPTION:Pickleball training classes are BACK! \n  \nCome and learn how to play Pickleball with Joyce Hughes. Pickleball is a lively racket game for all ages and abilities. Pickleball was created with one thing in mind\, FUN! It was designed to be easy to learn and play whether you’re five\, eighty-five or somewhere in between. We offer both a beginner and intermediate class. Each four week class will teach proper grip\, how to keep score\, rules of the game\, stroke\, serve and etiquette.  \n\nAdult Intermediate Class requires knowledge of the game\, keeping score and different strokes. This class will work on strategy and court position. Drills and match play will also be introduced. \n  \n*Wear your workout clothes and court shoes. We provide the paddles\, balls\, instruction and fun. \n  \nWe are offering two different levels from August 1-22: \n Adult Beginner class 3-4PM \n$80 Members \n$100 Non-Members \n*4 participants minimum\, 8 maximum \n  \nAdult Intermediate class 4-5PM \n$120 Members \n$140 Non-Members \n*4 participants maximum \n  \nRegistration is open at the front desk.

DESCRIPTION:Tuesday\, July 30 – Sunday\, August 4 the Ledgestone Open will be in town and they will be using our facility at various times throughout the week/weekend. \n  \nDuring this time\, a Limited Parking Notice will be in effect. We will have limited parking and our facility will be busier than normal. Pay special attention to parking on Thursday\, August 1 and Sunday\, August 4 as these will be the busiest days of the tournament; with thousands of people coming in and out of our facility.
