Girls with Goals: Barbell Basics

Session 1 | June 2–18

Mondays and Wednesdays from 12–12:45 p.m.

 

Session 2 | June 30-July 16

Mondays and Wednesdays from 12–12:45 p.m.

Participants will learn the fundamentals of barbell training in a safe, supportive and fun environment. This introductory class focuses on foundational lifts like squats, deadlifts and presses, while building strength, confidence and body awareness. Led by Personal Trainer Tara Tiezzi, participants will gain a strong foundation in weightlifting. Participants must be able to lift a 45-pound barbell.

 

Location: meet at the upstairs fitness desk

Ages: 14-18

Prices: $150 members, $175 non-members

Meet Personal Trainer Tara Tiezzi

“I have been a Personal Trainer at Five Points for over eight years, and a member since the facility opened in 2007. I am passionate about helping clients of all ages learn more about strength training and how it will benefit them. Let’s work together to achieve your goals—whether that’s hitting a new PR or just feeling better in your own skin.

I have a Bachelor of Science from Illinois State University and am a Certified Personal Trainer through the American College of Sports Medicine (ACSM). I live in Washington with my husband and two sons. You can catch us at lots of area swim meets!”
